Join LFDC for an immersive, off-trail walk in the Rock-Raimie Complex Legacy Forest in Grays Harbor County. DNR plans to auction off near 80 acres of this forest in Unit 1 of the upcoming “Tweedy” timber sale. DIFFICULTY: MODERATE/CHALLENGING 1.5 mi OFF TRAIL, uneven terrain, ~200 ft elevation gain

About the event

Located on Sq’ʷayáiɬaqtmš (Chehalis) Territory in the North River headwaters, the Rock-Raimie Complex Legacy Forest contains the largest concentration of structurally complex forest left standing on DNR land in Grays Harbor County. DNR’s “Tweedy” timber sale, Unit 1 of which threatens to clearcut nearly 80 acres of this legacy forest, is scheduled for auction on January 30th. Join us for an off-trail walk in the woods to experience the biodiversity at stake and learn about ways to get involved in the legacy forest movement.


When: Sunday, January 26th from 10am–2pm

Where: Meet at 10am at the Oakville High School Parking Lot (south side of US-12). From there, we'll caravan to the forest.
